Filifera

I have to admit, it was daunting to look at this haul and think of how much work was ahead- just coming from removing the 3+ clumps of these amazing Agave filiferas.

Kate & Jeff in San Jose were kind enough to donate these plants to the project. Now their daughter and new son will not be scared for life after falling into them.

Channing was there to help remove these but I tackled the installation myself. Weird, but I think the medians are now full!

Don't hold me to this...

The bright orange Nasturtiums are volunteers. (below, check out the volunteer Cosmos popping up around the center median which mystifies me as I have tried growing them with no luck) This forth clump, was positioned in such a way that it is inching into the space of the A. vilmeranina as it goes out slowly in all its' glory. I want to be in less shock when I have to pull the stalk down, so the plants around it will make it easier to take when the time comes. The pictures below show the progress. I will try to get a close up of the actual flowers.

The flowers are opening their way up the stalk as we speak...
